Prins Vsi 4 Software Download
We can offer Prins LPG conversions on our vehicles which allow the vehicle to run on petrol or LPG. This is popular on pickup trucks where you still retain the original petrol system and an additional LPG tank is fitted either underneath the vehicle in place of the spare wheel, or behind the cab in the pickup bed. The saving comes from the price of LPG itself which is around half the cost of petrol.
The Prins VSI2 systems are fully automatic. In automatic mode the vehicle still starts on petrol until it reaches the desired operating temperature then automatically switches to LPG. It remains on LPG until you either switch it off or you run out, in which case it automatically switches back to petrol.
The LPG filler is usually fitted at the rear of the vehicle under the rear bumper which means that there is no drilling of the vehicle body work.
LPG is currently just over half the price of petrol. Exhaust emissions are also cleaner.
'VSI' is an abbreviation for 'Vapour Sequential Injection'. Prins describe this alternative fuel system as the most advanced vapour injection system available on the market. The VSI system is also suitable for the latest generation Direct Injection engines (VSI-DI). With the VSI system there is no difference with driving on petrol.
We have fitted Prins LPG conversions to many Rams and also the new range of F-150 vehicles including the new Ecoboost vehicles which are a twin turbo Direct Injection system.
All installation work is carried out in accordance with UK LPG Code of Practice. We have a long standing relationship with Quest Motorsport who carry out our LPG conversions and servicing.
This VSI alternative fuel system is developed in close cooperation with Keihin Corp. of Japan, one of the world's leading injector manufacturers and a name that stands for OEM quality and reliability.
The VSI system is fully integrated by way of a 'master – slave' method with the vehicle ECU, making it (E)OBD compatible, therefore signal emulation is not required.
The key components of this alternative system are all of OEM quality and specially designed for LPG and CNG applications. All components comply with the strictest regulations and certifications. Prins installations are very neat due to the compact design of the components.
The especially dedicated Prins diagnostic software is unique and enables fine tuning the VSI system for optimal performance and emission reduction.
We have converted many Rams to run on multi-fuel petrol/LPG. Around 25% of the new Rams we supply are supplied with a Prins LPG conversion. It is by no means necessary and everyone's requirements differ. It depends on the type of use and mileage that will be done and of course upon how long you want to keep the vehicle.
A 122 litre Tank can be fitted underneath the vehicle (which gives around 100 litres of usable capacity) or alternatively for those looking for a larger range a 180 litre tank can be fitted in the pickup bed. Both sizes give a great range and you still have the petrol tank in reserve.
We are the first UK supplier to have had Prins LPG fitted to the new Ford Ecoboost engines. These are a direct injection unit and the system has been developed by Prins specifically for the F-150. It works by still injecting a tiny amount of petrol with the LPG.
